Content Manager

With the Content Manager, content contributors can create, manage and publish contents by intervening directly on the website via an intuitive web « browser » type interface.
Content updating can be guaranteed thanks to a « workflow » validation process.

A large number of websites and different language versions can be deployed on the same U-Publish platform.

A WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) visual interface allows users to modify text in a simple, rapid and efficient manner. For more control, an HTML editing mode is also available.

Assets / File manager

U-Publish’s file manager looks a lot like Windows Explorer.

It allows website file visualisation and management directly on the server. The following functions are included:

  • Directory creation
  • File upload
  • File and directory suppression
  • Insert files into pages

Supported formats: .rtf, .swf (flash), .doc, .xls, .pdf, .txt

Using the file manager means you don’t have to use FTP software for transferring files onto the server.

Template Manager

Page structure is defined by templates, to which the content is integrated.

This allows the website’s sections to have multiple appearances, adapted to the themes they describe. Content is dissociated from presentation.

This type of process increases the website’s flexibility. Templates are created during U-Publish’s integration by web designers. They allow consistence in the website’s graphic charter.

Using templates in U-Publish makes creating a new page very easy.

Integration of U-Publish « tags » into templates can be done with any HTML editor.

Development Tools

For easier website integration into U-Publish, a series of plug-ins for the Macromedia Dreamweaver® HTML editor have been developed.

These plug-ins allow web designers to create contact forms in visual mode, navigation menus, and integrate the different U-Publish proprietary « tags ».

U-Publish’s development tools are above all destined to integrators and web professionals.

Users and Groups

The application is structured by specific access rights, thanks to which the website’s managers can log on.

Each editor possesses their own user name and password. The website’s administrator can configure the modules and functions which the user can access. Website maintenance can therefore be shared between users who have the rights to access different sections or modules.

Users are separated into groups.
The rights are managed like ACL’s (Access Control Lists) for U-Publish modules, and for the website’s « properties » pages.

These functions allow rapid editable zone creation for a restrained group of users, of extranet type.

Workflow Concepts

U-Publish allows a group of people to work at the same time on an Internet or Intranet website thanks to its workflow procedures.

With this system, tasks can be delegated and validated within a team.

Notification of changes via email, follow-up, and deadlines are managed by this module.

Extra Modules

U-Publish contains many more modules like banner management, news management, mailing lists, real-time statistics, e-catalogues and e-commerce.

Modules can be developed using U-Publish’s API’s.
